Sow and Dipity on Feb 17, 2013@JACKI BYERS Oxalis is a pretty big genus...there are so many varieties that range from outdoor woodland, annuals to indoor plants. There are new introductions every year used mostly in seasonal containers. Like this new one I have my eye on for 2013 called Oxalis Plum Crazy from Hort Couture: http://www.hortcoutureplants.com/product-detail/oxalis-plum-crazy%E2%84%A2-yellow- Perhaps you could share which variety your interested in and your hardiness zone...I'm sure a few of the garden guru's on here will have some great advice for you :)Helpful Reply

Douglas Hunt on Feb 18, 2013Jacki, I suspect most oxalis would be considered an annual where you are, and would prefer a shady situation. As Shelley says, it's a very big category of plants, so there's quite a range of cultural considerations.Helpful Reply

Creative Expressions on Feb 18, 2013I love oxalis and use it every year for my clients. It does best in the shade.A favorite combo of mine is orange coleus, Japanese painted fern, purple oxalis, and orange marmalade heuchera. You can also bring oxalis in in the fall as a house plant.Helpful Reply
