LD on Sep 21, 2015If, I have to choose between these two shades, I vote for the green, for it pulls the green from the walls. The blue in the cushions don't really go with the rug. Don't know how much you spent for the cushions, but I would pull one of the colors in the rug and make that the color for the cushions.Helpful Reply

Janice on Sep 21, 2015I'm trying to figure out what color are your curtains? and are your walls gold stripped? I can see your rug is blue with some green and looks like gold tones. I'm not sure the blue or green cushions work at all, but if I had to pick one it would be the blue.Helpful Reply

Olga Rivas on Sep 21, 2015Although my preference in usually green, I have to say the blue looks very comforting and classic in this room. Either way, good choices.Helpful Reply

Jacalyn on Sep 21, 2015Is there another color in the rug that you like? If so, that might work well for the seat cushions and help that color "pop" a little. Failing that, maybe a lighter blue in the rug would be a better color.Helpful Reply

Mutya Magallona Grunwald on Sep 21, 2015i kinda like it the way i see it. Green and blue is more interesting just add more blue & white plates or porcelains in your cupboard at the background and that will complete the picture...charming classic shabby chic...Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Sep 21, 2015Im thinking try taking a different color out of the carpet. I personally think both the the colors are to busy in that room. You already have alot going on.Helpful Reply

Liliana Wells on Sep 21, 2015If there is no other color in the rug, I say blue.Helpful Reply

Marlene Zawadski Lee on Sep 21, 2015I think the earth tone tan in the rug would make it richer. Then accent with your blues and greens with a centerpiece and dishesHelpful Reply

Cindy on Sep 21, 2015i would say the green it accually accents the green in the wall and not being rude but the blue carpet really does not go with the room it would look great if you replaced it with brown or tan colorHelpful Reply

Terra Gazelle on Sep 21, 2015No blue.maybe more muted like your walls. I think the blue is too much, and that color green is too bright. I think the muted color would look great with that hutch.Helpful Reply

Tracy Atkin on Sep 21, 2015Use blue, change out the carpet for a plain, light orange one and the blue will pop, making the focal point become the gorgeous seating at the center of the room. Save the green ones for the holidays and have a red carpet on hand to put in place of the orange one when you use them...Helpful Reply

Sheila Ryan on Sep 22, 2015The blue compliments the furniture, but the carpet is just too busy with it all. Go with a different pattern or color. Maybe stripes? Black & white. The pic makes the cushions more turquoise than blue.Helpful Reply

JustMe on Sep 22, 2015I agree wholeheartedly with Tracy Atkin! Google "Color Wheel" that's always a good guide. Blues and greens are too close together. If your walls, drapery, rug and cushion colors are too close, you lose all the room's charm. I use the 3, 2, 1 Method. 3 items of one color, 2 items of another color ( both of them close to each other on the color wheel), then 1 item of another color (opposite on the color wheel...ie-the orange rug Tracy was suggesting) The rest a neutral color and always one thing black, to ground the room. And of course, all bets are off for Christmas! Have fun!Helpful Reply

Just a little bit of paint.would would make a great transformation. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Pat on Sep 23, 2015I think the blue is too close to the blue rug, but not quite the same. It looks like you were trying to match and just didn't get it right. The green is a contrast and looks like you planned it thatnway. The green has my vote!Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on Sep 23, 2015Blue - melds with the rug and you have blue pieces in your hutch. I think the floral centre piece is too large for the table so I'd go with a lower, smaller arrangement.Helpful Reply

Delanie on Sep 26, 2015I would go for either the green or a tan, if you can get it. The blue is just a little off and pulls the eye away from the rug and your table and chairs, which are the focal point of the room. Personally, I would use a tan or muted "gold" for the seat cushions so as to not take away from the focal point, like I said earlier. The vase of flowers is lovely, but a little tall, so I might move it to the hutch and put a basket or tray with a lantern, candle, and something seasonal like a pumpkin or a stack of small orange plates and maybe a blue checked napkin peeking over the side of the basket/tray. You have done a great job furnishing your room on a budget! It reflects your hard work and diligence! Congratulations!Helpful Reply

Debi53 on Sep 26, 2015Between the two, I think the blue looks best, but the cushions look more like teal while the rug appears more navy or royal blue. It may just be that the colors are not reading true on my computer. If there actually is a difference in the hue between the cushions and the rug, I would try to bring in more of both colors as accents to pull the two together.Helpful Reply

Bennie on Sep 26, 2015Green! But I would suggest you go with one of the colors from the flowers! IN the rose pink family would look smashing! Trust me.Helpful Reply
