Janet Pizaro on Oct 17, 2015Personally I would not let a salesman stop you from what you are trying to achieve. If this was your idea that you created go ahead and full fill it.Helpful Reply

Nikki on Oct 17, 2015I think ALL men say that about wood, that is why women do the decorating haaha I love the colors you chose and I think it is going to look Great. I hope you post the after pictures so we can see =)Helpful Reply

Jean Luby on Oct 17, 2015I agree with the above two! We have a grey stone house. I always felt it needed a pick up color. Painted big front door dk. pink. Will also paint same color with other door. Looks great from the road. With the grey you can add any color you love.Helpful Reply

Shari on Oct 17, 2015First of all, I want to say, you have an ADORABLE home! I agree with both Janet and Nikki. It's no secret men prefer wood so I would not waste one minute worrying about painting the door yellow if that is your vision. While the door won't look bad if it is stained, I don't think It will look as fantastic as it would painted in this cheerful yellow you have chosen. Do it! (And I would also love to see a picture when the shutters and door are done!)Helpful Reply

Mickey Baron on Oct 17, 2015I just LOVE your front door. It's such a hard decision. I like wood too. But your color choice is beautiful. I think a shiney black would be classy. Wreaths are going to dress it up so nicely. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Debbie on Oct 18, 2015I think I would stain it and live with it for awhile. You could always go back and paint it later.Helpful Reply

Kathy Graham Bircher on Oct 19, 2015Charming home and yard. First of all, the salesman won't be the one looking at or opening YOUR front door. Anytime you are in your front yard I bet you will look, at least for several months. I would love clear varnish but yellow is my favorite color so you gave me a dilemma. Are shutters going up at windows or door or both? debbiehoffpauir had good idea. Ask at store about process or products to use.Helpful Reply

Sharon Kavanagh on Oct 20, 2015How many times are you going to look at the door? Many many many times. Go with yellow. I will look adorable. I am not a natural at decorating but one of the best pieces of advice I have received it to "Decorate with what you love".Helpful Reply

B. Enne on Oct 20, 2015Although it is a beautiful door, the natural wood is patchy in the panel below the window (lighting maybe?). A stain would just emphasize that. If that is not the look you are after, then I would paint it. The 2 colours you chose are classic and historical, and go so well with the house colour.Helpful Reply
