Would you paint lower cabinets darker w/ white appliances?

I'm thinking of painting my lower cabinets a darker color (they are white right now). The issue is I have all white appliances. I will not be replacing them. Would that look awkward?

@Cecilia Bramhall lots of people have that. My dishwasher is off white, and @Juju (Journeys With Juju) 's pic looks good.

I do not think it would be awkward at all.There are so many new options out. Gel staining has become very popular,shabby chic if you like that look.etc.I personally would like to see the white appliances with the color in the previous post. It is very eye catching.

As long as you leave the upper cabinets white, I think you will have a much more interesting kitchen by painting the lower ones a darker color. Also, darker cabinets don't show spills & drips like white ones do (not that any of us ever have less than perfect kitchens!).

Go for it! At the end of the day it's just paint and you can always paint over it if you don't like it.
