What type of fern can I put in my urns on the east covered porch l

only morning sun loves hanging boston but want to put something in my urns that are not messy but shade loving and makes a huge front door impact

Why not consider something other than a fern, like a shade-loving ornamental grass like Hakonechloa macra 'All Gold," or hosta, which would add some great sculptural presence to your urns. Plus, both of those have the advantage of being able to be planted in your garden in the fall.

Macho fern is a great showy fern, but it is messy. I don't think there is a mess-free Fern.:)

my boston ferns are not messy :) thank you Douglas for the hosta I like that idea...now for color :)
