Every morning I see lots of slugs, mostly baby ones on my tiled patio. Any suggestions on dealing with them?

KMS Woodworks on Mar 24, 2012DE , Diatomaceous Earth is great at deterring these...people also set "traps" with shallow containers of beer. In these cases us some cheap less than Ideal brew like bud or miller...no sense wasting a fine micro brew.Helpful Reply

Susan S on Mar 25, 2012EEEEEWWWWW!!! I don't think there's anything yuckier or nastier than slimy gross slugs. I get an element of "perverse pleasure" in sprinkling salt on them and I DO NOT FEEL ONE BIT OF GUILT!!! Of course you would want to be selective about where you do this, like NOT directly on your plants or around them but when I see them on the sidewalk or crawling up the siding - WATCH OUT!!!Helpful Reply

Susan S on Mar 25, 2012Donna - BTW - I'll send you my salt shaker if you let me "borrow" your owl!! I've seen several shows that have said Owls are great at hunting VOLES. I could keep this guy fat & happy for a long long time! Our yard is riddled w/voles and they've destroyed so many of my plants! We've tried every solution ever offered from Wrigleys juicy fruit gum, tobacco juice, dog doo - you name it and nothing has worked. We've put down grub control stuff which is supposed to be why we have voles in the first place but so far they continue to thrive.Helpful Reply
