Confessions of a Serial DIYer on Jun 10, 2013Too bad i'm on the other side of the country, I'd swing by right now and pick it up! What a gem!! Paint it with chalk paint, no sanding or priming! Then sand it a bit and add a top coat of wax to seal. It would be gorgeous in a fun color! It could also be a sweet bedside table!Helpful Reply

Mary Insana on Jun 10, 2013Great table. When I have a nice wood piece I like to do a two toned look. You can sand and stain the flat part of the top and the bottom shelf then use a soft white or very light off white on the remaining areas, distress the lighter color then wax. You can add colorful accessories instead of painting it a color. With the white color you can always re accessorize your colors.Helpful Reply

Nancy Hatcher on Jun 11, 2013I would glue some pretty tiles on the top and bottom and paint it with a weather proof paint and use it as a plant stand, an outside table between two chairs for drinks. I would find some small shade plants to put on the bottom shelf or a shell collection or.........Helpful Reply

Terri on Jun 11, 2013How come I never come across great finds like this! I would either sand and refinish, or paint, then place it by the front door (either inside or out). It's perfect for an entryway -- keys etc in the drawer and shoes or backpacks on the bottom shelf; you could even hang umbrellas from the towel bars. Protect the top with wallpaper or decoupaged fabric and top with a potted plant -- instant utilitarian accent piece. LOVE this! Hope you find a great use for this super piece.Helpful Reply

LeeAnn Gerleman on Nov 30, 2014I would either sand it down and stain it, or (my favorite) paint it a soft yellow. I have a neighbor that is a great decorator. And in every room of her home, which is all rustic, vintage, etc. she has one nice piece of furniture that is painted a yellow, pink, light blue, etc. In one bedroom, she has a metal bed with a handmade quilt on it, with a soft yellow small dresser. Beautiful rooms.Helpful Reply

Carole on Nov 30, 2014If you cannot fix that curvy bit at the back, can you remove it? I would paint it in an old white colour and stencil the top and perhaps or the lower shelf. As someone else mentioned it would make a great little drop off station in the hall for all those keys, mobiles, mail and so on. Or a nice vase of flowers.Helpful Reply
