Janet Pizaro on Jun 13, 2016You can hang a curtain as a room divider giving you your privacy and your son his own space. Then decorate the spaces accordingly.Helpful Reply

KATHLEEN QUINLAN on Jun 13, 2016I would either buy a 3 panel divider , the open and usually have a nice pattern. Or put a wall up so both of you can hang things of your decor on it..Helpful Reply

Pam Jones Williams on Jun 13, 2016I turned a loft into zones for my son and his mom when they lived with us, we had a larger dormer space, first his bed, then a dresser/chest of drawers at the end of it, and then his moms bed at a right angle with a dresser at the side of hers. This divided the space with the furniture, she could still see over to him as she needed too but it allowed her to read in bed without keeping him awake past his bed time. Another idea I've thought of using is to suspend a pole from the ceiling and then use curtain material to divide the space and you could close off the right side or the left site aesthetically and make it interesting in color/pattern. Last idea, buy some shudders, screw together make a divider.Helpful Reply

Susan on Jun 13, 2016I once had this situation for several months; my son was seven at the time. I made a little bedroom for him in a walk-in closet. He had a mattress on the floor, a lamp, pictures on the walls, even a little bookcase. We hung his stuffed snake from the closet rod. It was actually cute, and worked fine for the limited time we needed it.Helpful Reply

Pam Jones Williams on Jun 13, 2016I just roughed this out from the way I remember the room we laid out, on top of the dressers we added things that were functional a small fan, lamp, tray for items. There was a time we switched the loveseat and entertainment center. The way we configured it in the picture the furniture was tall enough to use as separators when my grandson was small. Hope this helps.Helpful Reply

KatAych on Jun 13, 2016You can create zones by use of several things -- book cases, hanging curtains from the ceiling, any kind of room divider. It would definitely be great for each of you to feel like you have your own space.Helpful Reply
