Unusual bathroom window treatment

Answered
I just remodeled a bathroom which has wainscoting and has a more formal look. I am at a loss as to what type, style window treatment would add to this appearance not detract from it. What do you suggest?

I would use a Mini Blind that you can customize the color to match your wall color.

Do you need to be able. To close the window covering for privacy?

Jean, due to the elevation of my house in relationship to my neighbors, privacy is not an issue. What did you have in mind?

Mini blinds ARE more formal & also classy looking when custom made to fit your window. Without "stealing the show". I'm not sure how formal you'd like to go, but you could also find a lightly laced, sheer, now don't cringe so fast! I said LIGHTLY laced, meaning not much of a fancy/ busy design. more subtle. The French or Italian style are my absolute favorite. They look lovely with wainscoting if you find the right one. I also like the light, breezy feeling you get from sheers.

I made flat panels for ALL my windows. Right know they are mounted with tension rods at the top and the bottom. They go from the sill to the sash with the top of the window uncovered to let in light. You could use an old lace table cloth, some sheer fabric or something else that catches your eye. I also used "frost" window film on the lower half of one of my bathroom windows leaving the top plain glass.

Post pictures please. We'll all have more ideas to suggest. :-) You say privacy isn't an issue. Have you considered leaving the window open (i.e. no window treatment)? If you have a pretty view, why cover it up if you don't have to. :-D

If the window is framed nicely, you don't need anything. Or, blinds if you must. A nice plant if you have a window sill. : )
