KMS Woodworks on Jul 11, 2013Are these old fashioned steam / hot water radiators ? The best way to do this is to remove them...have them sand blasted and then refinished with a oil based spray enamel. They will look like new. The next best method is to spray them in place after doing your proper prep of sanding / cleaning etc to remove loose debris, contaminants etc.Helpful Reply

Hamtil Construction LLC on Jul 11, 2013We have prepped and painted many radiators over the years. The tricky part is that the paint should be sprayed. It is impossible to get all the nooks and crannies with a brush.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jul 11, 2013HIgh heat spray paint. Older homes in your area have lots of lead paint. Many times the old radiators have been painted with this material. Be careful if you sand or scrap them when prepping. Good old liquid paint remover then spray paint after is the best combination to get them looking their best.Helpful Reply

CC on Mar 11, 2014Go on YouTube. They have ways to paint them with tutorials. I have hot water radiators that I want to paint because covers are just too expensive, but with mine I have to wait until summer because they have to be drained and taken apart. Sounds like its going to be a lot of work!!Helpful Reply
