we have tight knot vertical cedar siding. We have cleaned it. We also used a wood restorer. When we started to seal the wood. The chemicals from the restore product is showing white crystalline splotches all over. I tried to upload a picture but couldn't. Any advice or suggestions?

Phil Miller on Jul 17, 2013Try a light sanding on a test spot. Then reapply a better restorer. Or paint it with a clear varnish. I painted an older log home and got good results with the clear varnish. I had cleaned it and caulked between the logs before painting.Helpful Reply
