oregano has taken over my garden..have given some away, am drying more than I will ever use. Are there other uses for oregano other than drying and using as food seasoning ?

    Rossa this is from WEB MD lots of uses Oregano is used for respiratory tract disorders such as coughs, asthma, croup, and bronchitis. It is also used for gastrointestinal (GI) disorders such as heartburn and bloating. Other uses include treating menstrual cramps, rheumatoid arthritis, urinary tract disorders including urinary tract infections (UTIs), headaches, and heart conditions. The oil of oregano is taken by mouth for intestinal parasites, allergies, sinus pain, arthritis, cold and flu, swine flu, earaches, and fatigue. It is applied to the skin for skin conditions including acne, athlete's foot, oily skin, dandruff, canker sores, warts, ringworm, rosacea, and psoriasis; as well as for insect and spider bites, gum disease, toothaches, muscle pain, and varicose veins. Oregano oil is also used topically as an insect repellent.

    Sara and Luis ..thanks, I will package them for my next yard sale as 'give always' with your comments and suggestions for use. I would be reluctant to use them in their natural state for medicinal use.or should That be a concern ? Actually the taste is not pleasant unless Cooked in sauces and the like.     Sara I just checked the morethan mundane.com website! Great directions for making oregano oil. Which will be good for the skin and bites ! Thanks much to you and Luis for responding.. each are quite resourceful !!:) will get busy now in making my first oil of Oregano..and sell it at the yard sale in stead of giving it away !!!! Who knew ...

    Luis& Sara I just made the most potent oregano oil ! Used the above directions... Will still share maybe at holiday time in small jars filled with pesto or oregano oil ! Thanks guys !
