Question about Annie Sloan soft wax

I recently have discovered ASCP and waxes. I love the products and have painted quite a few pieces. I am thinking about doing my dining room table but first have a question. I set a hot cup of coffee on my dresser and when I picked it up I realized that the heat from the cup had reactivated the wax. Is this going to be a problem for my every day table? Thanks!

Wax is not a very durable finish. Dining tables see the most aggressive use of any furniture in a home. I recommend poly or lacquer for these uses.
