I want to make a mini patio for my 2 trashcans

Johnchip on Oct 03, 2016I would use bricks or some sort of blocks that will give good solid support as opposed to the ever so popular crafty 'pallets' and also allow water to pass through between the spacing. You can rim it with a heavier or higher block to make it more elegant. If you use brick, you can do a herringbone pattern or such to make it fancier if you so like.Helpful Reply

Melissa Leach on Oct 04, 2016Use large flat patio blocks. We created a "deck" for our gas grill off our deck. Use as many as needed to create the space you need. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Sarah A. Victory on Oct 04, 2016Determine the area you need and mark it off for supplies of landscape fabric and concrete pavers. The landscape fabric is for the weeds/grass. You may need to do some leveling of the surface of the ground. Lay your pavers. My husband did this for a back yard garbage can patio. Good luck!Helpful Reply

Ellis on Oct 05, 2016I did this for my trash cans and for my garden hose reel. For the trash cans, I used some old weathered bricks dug up around my house from some prior owner's project. Our soil is a bit sandy, so I just dug down the depth of the bricks, made the "patio" large enough for three trash cans--but use only two, the extra space was for bundles or bags of yard waste, which our town composts. For the hose reel, which is in a visible spot, I bought pretty patio blocks that look like bluestone. I also put the extras next to my mailbox, so the mailman doesn't step on my flowers.Helpful Reply

Shirley Kalinosky on Oct 08, 2016We have an "L-shaped" lattice pieces and put them around the cans. It hides them and is easy to move away to get to the cans. It stands by the side of the house and looks very nice.Helpful Reply
