have you tried a medical device store? they have all sorts of aids for just those issues.
Rubber door stops will do the trick
I frequently buy them from drleonards.com and also thrift stores (just stick them in the tub with a bunch of bleach to disinfect). I also frequently get them from our free medical equipment loan non-profit, many towns have them. http://www.drleonards.com/search/index.cfm?criteria=raised%20toilet%20seat
I just checked both of mine to find how they attach. There is a bolt with a nut on each side of the lid. Removing the nuts will lift the seat and lid from the porcelain. Get two bolts the same diameter but 2 inches longer than what you have. We have Target Plastics where I can buy different thicknesses of different kinds of plastic. 8 pieces 1/2" thick could be cut with a bore saw on a drill press. The two pieces for the front of the seat can be made the same way. The one section that attaches to the lid would be bored out to fit around the existing bumper pads. If 2" thick plastic were available, they could shaped easily on a drill press.
medical supply stores have the raisers built into the SEATS, not under the toilet, is that what you mean? Also try online to find seats that are made as risers.
Thank you so much.
Maybe something here can help: https://www.homedepot.com/b/Bath-Toilets-Toilet-Seats-Bidets-Toilet-Safety-Elevated-Toilet-Seats/N-5yc1vZcesj?Ns=P_REP_PRC_MODE%7C0
If the taller toilet (a riser on top of it) is needed for health purposes, look into your insurance to see if it will pay some of it.
My husband got one when he had hip surgery....not sure you can close a lid on it, but am sure there are some that have a lid to close.
You can buy taller toilets also, if that is something you need.
If you need help, let me know, please.
There are foam "donuts" you can buy and anchor to the top of the toilet seat. If you try to put a spacer under the seat, you will have to lengthen the bolts that attach to the seat to the toilet itself.
There are some you can buy that sit on top of the toilet to make it higher. I don't think they're very expensive.
Well I have a wooden seat, you screw them on, but you could use a Glue
if plastic. Otherwise check out the Red Cross, they may be able to help you............
I see all comments. they answered your question.

If you raise the seat you need to look at your plumging first. Our spare bathroom seat was raised about that high and it raised the pipes allowing a small gap. We lowered it when we discovered this but just take a good look before you do anything.
Hello, you can Pickup a thicker toilet seat to raise the height.

Hi Llt: Have you tried looking at medical supply stores? Here's a site that may help, although they don't have exactly what you want: Bathroom Safety Products - J&B At Home (jandbathome.com) If you want to raise your toilet seat, you will not only have to raise the front, but the back, too, which may be difficult. Perhaps if it's medically necessary, your insurance will cover what you need.
