I used two microwave carts - one for my sewing machine, accuquilt, tools and rulers, the other for my little fabric stash. This worked great when I was in a tiny apartment. I just rolled the two carts to wherever I wanted to work. To the kitchen for cutting fabric so I could use the drop-leaf table, or to the living room if I wanted to sew to my fav orite show.
How about a small armoire or computer desk storage unit devoted to crafts? Wheels could be added to a smaller unit. Have you seen the coffee tables that top rises up and have under table storage. The top then becomes your work space and your crafts can be kept under it
Great idea,
I live alone and have literally turned my living room into a craft/sewing studio. I have a comfortable chair, TV, computer desk, sewing table, bookcases for my fabric stash and containers of trims, ribbons, zippers, elastic, scrapbooking supplies, etc., a small cabinet for my granddaughter's craft supplies and that's about it. If I have company (more then 1 person) we go downstairs to one of the two common spaces and visit there. This has worked well for me for the last 7 years.
