I would LOVE to have the honor of looking at your mural everyday, its magical! Had you done anything like it before?
I have painted many murals on walls and love this one! I started when I was a broke teen living on my own and kept going, I dont have many photos, but here is part of a care bear on I did when my oldest son - was a baby - 35 years ago!
Great job.
I have made three murals [so far] in my life....One in my daughter's room....twenty years ago and two others. I painted a blue sky free hand and then used foam stamps to add in flowers around three sides of the "sky." I also made two murals for our church [with my daughter watching from her car seat, hahaha]. She doesn't like to create art, but she has always loved to admire art....wonder if that's where she got her art appreciation from! The one wall [a fun painting of Jesus with the little children and a couple animals from a children's Bible with amazing artwork] was about twelve or fourteen feet long. The other was painted onto two adjoining walls, including the corner....it depicted Jesus sitting under a tree, receiving the five loaves and two fishes from the young boy who offered them to feed the crowd. Both of those were done by using a projector to outline the picture, and then painting in by hand. I added a bit of permanent marker at the end to outline where necessary. I loved doing it! I gave credit to the original artist in a byline under each picture.
You did a lovely job, especially free hand: the colours really compliment your décor! Hope you enjoyed doing your mural!
Another wall decor project I have done in the past was to create my own stencil of tire tracks and then stenciled the tracks up and down the wall of my young son's room. He loved race cars.
I don't know how to do the upload Sorry.....maybe I can get my teenager to upload some in the future, lol!
I love the mural! I can't believe it's only your first time! It came out beautifully and fits in perfectly where you painted it!
I did this on my wall in dining room afew years ago but instead of painting I got my husband to get me real white birth trees that had fallen or were broken off and he cut them in half let them dry out and then we put them up on the wall looks great have had many comments
This is a mural I did a few years ago for my bedroom
beautiful, how did you create the illusion that it is fabric strips?
My only idea is...bigger wall
It looks great! I've done two in my day. On big bedroom walls. One was a multi co.ored abstract to match my son's bedspread and the other was a black and white of the city of Chicago for my daughters room. We used acrylic bling for the building windows and put silver sparkles on the ceiling. It was very cool.
Your mural is beautiful. However, you have too much furniture and decor around it which detracts from it's beauty.
Wise choice! I bet it looks wonderful now. Thank you for sharing your talented artistry with us!
Oh, I'm sure it's in some old photos someplace. LOL it was many years ago at another house. If I find it I'll post it for you. 😊
I absolutely love it!! You did a very awesome job!!
So pretty! I keep saving ideas for a mural... I love the grisaille style, (all greys or browns on white) we'll see if I ever do one.
