How about a nice basket next to the sofa to store all the clutter. You can make a lovely one out of just a dollar store laundry basket and some rope. Here's a nice one- http://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/rooms/dollar-store-laundry-basket-turned-chic-metallic-rope-basket-25609565
Dollar Store Laundry Basket Turned Chic Metallic Rope Basket
Is there room to have a foot stool? There are some nice ones with storage. I have a book shelf by my chair, but it's not the best solution. I'd be happier if it had sliding doors.
A magazine basketvwith hsndke ally has 2 sides. Place papers & books in 1 side & 'extras on other side.
There are many sizes of plastic drawers that you buy at Walmart and many other places. You can decorate them to match your decor.
I use end tables with drawers and shelves. In the drawers, I use plastic containers to store often used items, such as pens, remotes, and similar items. On top I have a memo pad with a hole in it for a pen next to the phone.
In that case, I have another idea. In addition to end tables, we have a lift coffee table. The table easily lifts and comes forward so that it is the right height if we want to eat while watching TV. Underneath the life are compartments where we store such things as remotes, TV guide, pens, etc. They can easily be ordered from most furniture stores or on the Internet.
This sounds like an awesome idea!
