How to mend a small crack in my mango wood coffee table?

Plan a) Tape off the crack, force glue into crack with your fingertips, and then clamp across the whole table. This would probably be the most secure, and might bring it together enough that you don't see the crack in the painted area

Plan b) Get some wood putty and stain. Practice mixing the two and letting dry on a scrap of wood. When you get the blend/color you want, fill it in. The paint will have to be touched up by hand.

Plan C) Sand the underside of the table with a rough grit sandpaper and collect all the shavings. Mix with wood glue and force into crack. This should then take the stain and look exactly as it had originally.

I'm so sorry your new baby was damaged in transport. Sellers really need to make sure they ship properly OR guarantee repair/replacement.

Hello I would consider touching it up filling the void with a wood putty. There are even colored wood putty to try to match your area or it could be custom touched up with acrylic paint to blend in.

Hello. I would suggest using a wood filler, it could be placed into the void defect and smooth out with a moist finger until it is flush with the top. After cured, dry... it can be touched up with acrylic paints. Acrylic paints can be found at Walmart or craft stores generally starting at $.50 a bottle. If the perfect color is not available it might need to be custom tinted. Just be sure to try to match the sheen of your table if it is a matte finish—satin finish —a gloss finish or metallic finish. The paints bottle will tell you which unit is whether it is gloss satin or matte.

Hi Richa, as stated above, a wood filler is going to be the best solution. They come in a variety of different colours now so you can get one to match the wood. When you apply it, squeeze a little onto the crack and then push it in with your finger. Once the crack is filled, you a damp cloth to wipe away any excess on the table. Allow it lots of time to dry after it is filled. Depending on how deep the crack goes, it may sink as it dries and you will need to give it a second filling. If you choose a colour that matches the wood, it should be barely noticeable when it is dry. You can do the same for the painted part and then I would use a very find artists paint brush and paint (with colours as close as you can get to the black and beige) right over the wood filler. Go to your local hardware store and get some sawdust, or make your own by sanding a piece of wood.Tape off the crack. Mix the sawdust with elmers or wood filler glue. Push it into the crack, overfill. let dry. Sand down and put some more into the crack if necessary. When dry you can paint or stain that area.

Wood glue followed by stain the match the table top.

Saw dust and Elmers glue, see if the underside of the table is the same color as the top, if so, sand some off and keep the sandings to mix with the glue.
