Succulents require bright light and little water.
Misting? That is a new one for me, but might be good for some. They like well drained soil. I can grow them like weeds, but mine are all outdoors. What exactly are they doing? Shriveling? Yellow? Turning brown?
Dont overwater and many succulents like small pots and tight quarters.
I have found that if I use the potting soil that is made for succulents they are less likely to die. Since I started using that I have some that have lived long enough to grow to a huge size! They look really cool. Home Depot sells it. It is kind of pricey compared to regular potting soil but makes such a difference.
Jroper gave good advice, but when to do is just as important as what to do. Get a Llewellyn's Moon Sign Book. I experience 35 to 40 percent increase in yield using moon sign's. Planting in a barren sign can cause total crop failure if you ever planted or transplanted and wondered why it died.
To save time, I would have my soil tested, to see what the soil balances are. For if you have the wrong balance in your soil, then the plants or crops will not grow as they are suppose to do. It is just a kit, and then they will test it for you. Best wishes.
Regardless of what happens or what soil i have or may not have, mine grow like weeds. I spent the morning repotting and have more to go. I have so many, I am going to give a bunch away.
I am glad I clicked on this post. I just purchased three small succulent plants and the place I got them said to just mist them. They are in very small pots not much larger than a half dollar size. I went online and read that they should not be misted but like someone said above, to be well drained. I also read to water them and then leave them alone till the soil dries out. I will check at Home Depot as someone suggested and purchase soil for them but think maybe mine need a little large pot than half dollar size. Thanks everyone for the tips.
Fyi succulents are not to be misted.Water when dry to the touch.Keep them in a well lit location.Succulents retain moisture through there thick leaves.
