I use a vinegar cleaner that I make- and to deal with the vinegar-y smell, I soak it in citrus peels for at least 5 days, works like a charm!
My vote goes to----drum roll, please----- vinegar, as well. This stuff will clean anything and everything. Google "Cleaning with vinegar" and you will get more hits than googling "Adorable kitten videos." Good luck.
I use this cleaner from Doterra.. https://www.mydoterra.com/ShoppingCart/index.cfm?FuseAction=CategoryShop&CategoryID=477
It's "Onguard" which is a blend of natural essential oils. And smells amazing- not too strong!
2 cups distilled water (can be used for a longer period of time than tap water but could use tap water if used quickly). Neither of these waters have preservatives so use this fairly quickly to avoid bacteria.
1 T Baking Soda
2 T Castile Soap
30 drops tea tree oil
20 drops sweet orange essential oil
16 oz spray bottle
Pour water into spray bottle, add baking soda and shake well then add the other ingredients gently shaking bottle to combine. (Note: experiment with Orange essential oil if you don't care for the odor - I like the citrusy smell).
Cleans everywhere - tub, toilet, sink and even floor. Spray and allow to sit for a minute or two then wipe with a damp cloth. Rinse the cloth as needed.
NOTE: This also works well as a stain remover for carpets and rugs.
I agree. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant. I use basil and lemon or woodsy essential oils. Not a fan of tea tree but a few drops of frankincense helps. Eucalyptus is quite plenty and apparently has good effects. Have fun. Always buy quality oils that come in dark glass. Make sure they come with a dropper or purchase a dropped that fits in the bottle.
I will try the others but I cannot tolerate woodsy smells and definitely not Eucalyptus.
