The only effective remedies to rodents, in my experience, are cats and poison.
Can you get a pretty good guess as to where it is in the wall? Like between which studs? Can you cut a hole in the drywall and hope it comes out?? That would freak me out! Good luck!
I would call a professional at once,Whatever it is you certainly do not want it to die in the house.
Absolutely time to call in the professionals. They will also determine any points of entry and advise on how to fix as well as trap whatever is in there. Having a dead rodent in your walls is also a health hazard to you, your family and pets. Good luck!
Call pest control !!!
Cats have been my best source of keeping rodents away, but you also need to close up any way they're getting in or under the house. I'd call a good pest control company. Preferably one that has good references and not a franchise type. I've had better luck with local, family owned.
Put an animal trap/cage under the house with scraps. Catch and release far away maybe.
Your pest may have come in from below or it could get in via the attic. My parents had several raccoons in their attic that tore out the soffit covering over the eaves. Pest control is your best bet. If that's too costly get two traps one for up and one for down. Haven't found a pest yet that turned down peanut butter. I'd also bang on the wall when you hear the noises. Don't let them chew away. They may nibble on more than wall board.
