This is going to be a super fun project! One thought was that the wall with the window (in your second photo) would make a gorgeous accent wall of a different color. And you can paint the border of the window something that complements the color.
Paint the headboard and the end tables to match the accent wall mentioned by Cori. You can add some stencils to the closet doors, maybe flowers and vines?
Then take the accent wall color and get a new set of bedding using that color in the print in the comforter cover and pillow shams and accent pillows! You'll be amazed how your room will pop when all that happens . And that is super easy, it is just paint and new bedding. Also is there room for an accent chair like a comfortable last year? If there is you can always use that as an accent to offset the bedding
Teahm , Charlotte, Cori thank you all for the fabulous ideas ... I love it all
Nice room. Depending on the look and mood you're going for, choose a light color to paint the walls. Adding pops of color in your linens will make the room special. You can create special ambiance with window treatments, lighting, and wall decor. Have fun. Best of luck.
That is a wonderful room. The built-ins eliminate the need for almost all bedroom furniture, except for the bed and a bedside table. The shape of the window is so pretty and charming. I agree with your online "team" that the only things you need to make this room really special is linens and paint in the colors you love.
You could also stencil a few of those cabinent doors. Change out the hardware for some cute knobs (just fill in the extra hole with wood filler and dab a bit of paint the color of the finish, use a toothbrush for streaking) and and then hang some elaborate tassels on a couple.
You could then tie in the window with a the curved edge and stencils. I think I would bend and braid a couple branches with some tiny flowers above the window, and hang tassels on the end. Check for fancy tassels at Michaels or curtain departments of stores. For flowers check the dollar tree.
I would definitely get one of those hanging ironing boards and mount inside one of those tall cabinents, and get an iron holder too.
If you're really artistic, I would paint a branch across the wall above the bed, and add a few flowers. Think dogwood or cherry blossom trees. You could also do one of those great butterfly wall displays. Dollar Tree has packages of those. Here's a cherry blossom decal.... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0147RW5ZE/ref=asc_df_B0147RWR7U4952624/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395009&creativeASIN=B0147RWR7U&linkCode=df0&hvadid=175239875410&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6240345512346424989&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033057&hvtargid=pla-281941581560&th=1
For bedding check out www.brylanehomes.com or www.domestications.com. I have even gotten some fab comforter sets from St. Vinnies thrift store for disabled clients.
All great ideas, let us know what you chose to do, and most of all have fun!
What a lovely room. Please post photos when you complete your projects! Best wishes!
Go with the first three posts! I love how they played off one another. I wouldn't add a thing to their suggestions. God Bless.
