  • Fun to grow! If you purchase commercial seeds in the packet, it should have instructions on the back. I generally soak my seeds over night and have a tiny baby spoon and tweezers to separate seeds or just line up a bunch of dixie cups or whatever containers you have on hand and soak 3 seeds in each container. Easier to plant that way too. Or start in peat pots or paper egg cartons. Then transplant outside when big enough. Hope this gives you enough easy options! Happy growing!

These are vigorous plants. Start them in some sort of good sized disposable cups, harden off and transplant, better yet, stick them and inch or so into the ground where you want them to grow and thin out to keep the strongest seedlings. Follow the directions on the package, or if you are planting seeds from fresh ones from the grocery store, plant one foot apart in a place where then can climb up high.
