They make special strips that can be put on, like what you put on steps. Check at a local hardware store
You can buy non-skid strips made just for that purpose.

There are vinyl runners available by the yard or foot which can be either glued on or attached with nail tacks. Try Home Depot or Lowe's. Also carpet runners or indoor/outdoor runners would work.
Another thought, especially when cold and snowy is to use roof shingles. We used shingles that we cut down with an utility knife when the aforementioned tread pieces didn't provide enough traction on our daughter-in-law's wooden ramp. As her rehab progresses through the heat of summer, the roof shingles may break down from the sun. If that happens, we plan to use a heavy duty marine-grade paint with coarse sand.
