Do you trim your hydrangea? if so, what time of year?

It supposedly is the kind that blooms on new wood. It is near a pine tree so I am not sure if that has something to do with it. It doesn't get much sun, I am thinking of transplanting it but it is 4' high. I don't want to kill it while digging it up. Have you ever transplanted a hydrangea?

I am not sure of the brand but it would only receive a little runoff from when I water my garden. It was an organic fertilizer. We had a lot or rain this past week and up until today it has been in the 40's and 50's The bush does not look very healthy
