get your big bundle of asparagus from the store. Dig a trench about 1/2 as deep as the asparagus plant itself. Place the plant in the ground and bury until half the plant is buried. Follow the directions that came with the plants. Asparagus needs to grow 2 years before it's ready for picking.

Thank you!
Buy 2-year-old plants from your local garden center. Plan carefully where you want to plant them as they will live to be 20 years old or better if planted and cared for correctly. Plant where they will get at least 6 hours of sun per day. I prefer the Jersey Giant variety as most of the plants that you purchase are males which are preferred over females for harvesting. The females produce seeds but not edible stalks. It is best to plant them in a raised bed as they do not tolerate weeds well. Fertilize them well in January if your climate allows. I'm in zone 7 so this is my schedule to have fresh asparagus to pick in March. You can transplant them from their original location but it's not a great idea. I've been growing asparagus for about 10 years now so this info is from what I've learned from reading up on it, watching YouTube videos, and personal experience. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Happy to help a fellow gardener! Good luck!
Go to your local nursery and ask them what grows well in your area they will be glad to help you
