i have great success growing tomato plants from a single piece of old tomato and would love to do the same with strawberries but so far it has not worked and i would rather not use pre grown starter plants. any ideas? i have tried scraping seeds of the strawberry and putting in dirt, no success.

I have never had any success growing strawberries from seed either but am very interested in this. we are planting whole strawberries this year as a trial, so far nothing but we are early on. we have purchased strawberry seeds with no luck. I have a huge strawberry bed, it's just something on my 'wish list'.

Try mixing the seeds with manure then plant.
