Not sure where you live, but in Missouri that is when we do a lot of planting. We live in a river bottom and it always get cooler there, so the end of May is a good time to plant for us. We have all kinds of vegetables and flowers.

Yes they should I live in Northwest P.a. and I don't plant my seeds till the end of May if your worried you can always start them inside
