Good tip, Hillela! I was going to say she should head to the nearest Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Joann Crafts, etc, to ask about kindred spirits. Also, try Senior Centers or Community Centers in your neighborhood. Finally, you can post in Craigslist asking the same question. Good luck!
I know lexington has craft stores, I have only been through Richmond so I am not familiar with the shopping there, but I have seen several new places in the last few years. Walmart has some things and their prices are cheaper.
Since you have internet try Pinterest or do a search for craft clubs/stores in your area.
