Water it slowly, preferably w a soaker hose, deeply- at least 6-8", but let the top inch or two dry before watering again so it doesn't get soggy. To keep it blooming, feed it fertilizero every 2-3 weeks through the summer. Mid summer, trim it back by half. (if you are more diligent a gardener than I am-Lol-you can pinch off the spent blooms to keep it flowering, too)
lobelias really don't like the hot summer sun
Depends on where you live. I've never been successful with them lasting very long in SoCal. Too hot! I'd check on the web about your specific gardening zone!
I move mine to a shady spot in the hot summer months.
As long as they do not dry out they will be fine.When mine stop flowering I cut them back Just make sure for all season color plant something el]se beside the lobelia.
