Can you explain the procedure you did applying the seed?

  • What process did you use? You can't just plop down a hunk of sod and water and expect it to grow. There are many different methods to achieve a beautiful lawn. Also depends on what part of the country you live in too. Basic steps: till current soil adding in amendments specifically for a new lawn. Then seed, then topsoil and keep moist, but not wet. For sod, a lot of people use peat moss, limestone and other additives to make sure the new sod grows. Google or visit a good local nursery for steps to take for a successful lawn in your area.

Give it another week. I put down seed about 3 weeks ago. I just started noticing the sprouts and fresh grass. That's with us getting a lot of rain. Be patient.

You reall need to prepare your soul before putting out seed. Rake it thoroughly to loosen the surface and gave potentials seed space to root. You can also add another layer of top soil sparingly once you'be put the seed out.

Have you tried covering the grass patch or seed? I live in Michigan & often when it's done here the seeds or grass patch has straw scattered over it. The straw helps to keep in the moisture .

I'very always had a difficult time getting grass seed to grow too. Last year our yard was torn up to put in a new sewer. After it was done we had nothing but dirt. So I went to Home Depot and bought burlap and plastic Stakes we planted the seed and staked the burlap down on top of it. There's no shade in that part of my lawn and I work 12-hour days so I'm not home a lot to water it. The burlap kept the wind from blowing the seat out and it kept moisture in. This year you can't even tell there was any work done in my yard it looks great. I don't think you've waited long enough to see grass growing yet but if I were you I would get some burlap and do what I did it will help a lot
