Question on WASPS!

by Cathy
I have a serious wasp problem, the wasps seem to like to make nests in my shed and under my deck. I have heard that if you paint the area where you do not want the wasps a light blue they will move on and not build their nests - does anybody know if this is correct? Not sure if it makes a difference but the nests look like paper.

  • Yikes, let me Google. I have only had to deal with one wasp nest, luckily within early stages. I smoked them out with sage, then destroyed the nest.

  • I Googled "wasp nest prevention" naturally a ton of stuff popped up. Apparently they do not like cucumbers, so cut a bunch up and try that. Also says they are territorial and to hang up a few crumpled paper bags. WikiHow had some good suggestions. Did not see anything about paint color, but that does not mean it will not work.

I would call a pest control company if you are unable to remedy yourself. Just be careful, safety first.

I think your suggestion on calling a pest control company may be the best one for me. I have been dealing with the wasps for way to long. Thank you.

I agree with calling Pest Control - but maybe some of Naomie's suggestions would be great for preventing it again? Those natural solutions seem worth a try!
