I want to deter grackles from nesting in my back yard! How?

If you have bird feeders or squirrel feeders they will invade and eat everything they can. I found that having a dog who loves to chase them was the only thing that worked for me. Good luck. If you find something that works please share!

I have exceptionally few grackles, and I feed year-round. I feed suet cake and black oil seed at my multiple feeders. A bird specialist once told me if I didn't want grackles, don't feed corn or bread products. I get an incredible number of bird types that return year after year with this feeding regimen. I also add sugar water, oranges and grape jelly for the "special" birds (hummingbirds, Orioles, woodpeckers).
