Years ago we planted Four O'Clocks at 6:00 P.M. , they always bloomed at 6:00. I do not know for sure if the time of day we planted them had anything to do with it but, what an interesting plant!

depends...are you on daylight savings time? actually it all depends on the time of shade they get. I have seen them open all hours of the day just like moon flowers in the day and morning glories in the evening
4 o'clocks are called this because they open up in the late afternoon and remain open all night.
