My cat food bowls are on my uncovered porch and the food gets wet when it rains. Birds keep flying on the porch to eat the cat food. I have bird poo all over porch, and the railings !! I have no where else to put it that is safe. Any ideas on a solution for this???

Perhaps you could put the food in a pet carrier or one of those covered litter boxes, that would take care of rain problem. I keep a rubber snake on my back porch to keep birds from roosting on my ceiling fan, otherwise the roost and poop in a circle on the floor. LOL

Lagree you must have read my mind. These were what I was going to suggest. Also, hang some CD's on the railing. They light keeps birds away or so I have been told.

And lastly, here is a link where you can find inflatable owls from 7.00 and up. They work well, too.

Can you feed the cats inside? If not get some large covered litter boxes one for each cat. For a few days feed the cats without the lid. Then put the lids beside the tray part, Lastly after about 7 to 10 days put the lid on the tray.

To keep the birds away hang old CDs the edge of the porch roof. also hang weighted heavy fishing line. you want it thick enough that the birds think it is a solid wall but that you and the cats can get past.
