Stella de oro lillies. They come back each year and bloom most of the summer as long as you remove the dead flowers so new ones can start
for me (the original BROWN THUMB).. petunias are simple, and bright and cheerful and even I havent killed them!
I am a big fan of Imatiens. They can take shade and some sun, they are hardy and bug resistant. They do not need any attention except watering. They take on a nice, bushy shape and make a nice border plant around the house. Good luck!
