definitely rustoleum for metal.....don't listen to any kind...unless you want to constantly repaint....I have used auto paint for several metal projects and have had great luck with this

absolutely....when someone says any paint, watercolors are paint and wash off with water. some paints will not adhere to metal, some are indoor paints that will dry and crack in sunlight...use the right paint for the job. Auto paint is formulated to withstand any weather.....think rain, snow, sun light...it bonds to metal right....so why not for cast iron .....rustoleum also has chemicals that help prevent rust....cast iron is made from all scrap metal...most metal found at a scrap yard is ground up, remelted and poured into the molds...you could have auto parts, appliance parts, water pipes, nails, wheel bearings all melted together....some metals make others rust....this is why cast iron rusts so easy...you want the rust inhibitor in your paint
