i have had one success and that was putting the cutting into a potato and planting the potato...
I took a cutting in the fall and planted it and placed a mayonaise jar (or one similar to it)over the cutting and removed it in the spring and it has been growing nicely after 10 years!
Dab the cutting in rooting hormone and then stick it in a potato.
