Paint same colors or paint baskets a contrasting color to act as accents.
Are you planning to paint the dresser? If, so, I would suggest painting the plastic drawers to match. You can either leave the drawers themselves clear, or paint them too. Another option is to line the clear plastic drawer fronts in a complimentary patterned paper. You can also glue knobs or attach handles that match those on your dresser. Go to Pintrest and search ideas for plastic drawer makeovers. There are tons of ideas.
Oh, just noticed you said plastic containers, not drawers. What types and sizes are they?
There are many great spray paints that are made for plastic. I recently painted an old file cabinet and plastic bin drawers to go in the same room. I painted the frames a rose gold and the drawers a burnished copper. I wanted handles on all the drawers to match. To be able to do this I bought switch plates from the Restore for 10 cents a piece, painted them rose gold to match the frames and the handles the burnished copper. Paint is always a great unifier.
