Any suggestions to improve this small porch?

I would buy some Moss Off spray you attach to the hose, and get rid of the moss.
Pull the ivy along walk, maybe add a couple solar lights along path and some flowers for a border.
Those paver steps look like an accident waiting to happen. Maybe make a form and make another concrete step across below the higher slab.
Maybe add a rail on the left out of wood matching the wood siding to the post.
I would maybe put a potted tree on the little concrete slab to left of slab/door. Maybe a hanging potted flower in the left opening.
Better, bigger more colorful mat.
Thanks Sharon for the suggestions. We actually enter on the other side (concrete walkway) I would like to block off this side.
It definitely needs cleaning up and weeds pulled. Remove those loose pavers. Besides the safety issue, the step doesn't look tall enough that they are needed any way. I would take that little planter off the porch as it is crowding the door. You could put a bigger flower pot on the cement pad on the other side of the door. A pretty wreath could dress up the door. A nice welcome mat might be nice. A hanging plant from a decorative hook on the pillar can add some color. would you be allowed to paint the door? A bright unexpected color can really dress up a house.
Hello,
i would clean the pavers and put gravel underneath them. It might be interesting to use a different pattern when they are put back down.
Since you want to block entry from this side then I would place a potting table up against the concrete slab and one that is wide enough to cover the paver steps. Add some plants and flowers to the area and it will look charming. https://www.wayfair.com/Greenhouse-Potting-C489054.html
Powerwash the bricks, remove the weeds and add some potted bright flowers.
Clean up as suggested....then you will see more clearly the possibilities...If you want to block the door, place the suggested tall planter right in front of it, add 2 more (3 is better than 1), remove pavers or rearrange them with a sand base, ground cover or border plants along the path...Have fun!!
Thanks so much for your input.
About the large planter idea: This looks like a shady area, so I would suggest shade loving plants in it. Possibly some brightly colored coleus or light colored hostas.
I love your suggestions but the tree that is giving that shade is being removed next week. We will have a whole new slate then.
