You're probably thinking of grout sealer. The wait is to allow the grout time to fully set up and cure for maximum strength and durability. You only apply the sealer to the grout, not the tile.
I'd talk with your tile installer and see what they recommend as a sealer.
Or you can just go to Lowe's or Home Depot and ask for grout sealer with applicator . Important that you ask for the one with the applicator , trust me it will make your life so much easier than applying it with Qtips.
are you asking about grouting which should have been done or actually sealing and what kind of tile was installed?
My first question is: why isn't the tile installer not completing the job? How come you are left with this task? Something (to me), is not right here. And you are looking for grout sealer. You need the proper applicator too. Buy more than one, get help and get it done quickly. Needs to be reapplied periodically.
