I have seen some pretty awesome fences made from pallets, they are free everywhere. You could disassemble them or keep them together, stack them if you wanted it tall. Good luck!!
I feel your pain. I had a 75 foot chain link between me and neighbors and I was saving every penny to get my wood fence installed. Luckily last month I got it done! But these were a few of the ides I had in mind just in case I ended up blowing the money on my shopping addiction....lol!!!!

Do check out pallet fencing ideas, some are amazing and they are free. Check with local trucking companies to see if they might let you have some or furniture stores perhaps. You might need to stack them 2 high for six foot fence height. If you need them stained or painted, consider doing that before installing. Much easier . . .I found. There are LOTS of pallet fence ideas if you google. You will need to purchase posts and cement if you are doing this yourself. Good luck and share the final pictures!
fence panels 24.95 at Lowes, very easy to install yourself and very sturdy. Item # 320834 Model # 838175
Be careful using bamboo; it is very aggressive to the point that some townships in NJ have outlawed it. There have been many ideas on Hometalk re making creative fencing such as old windows, shutters, even old doors. Good luck
Our ave hardware sells premade rolls of game ok panels. Put in some post and fastback on the screening and voila!
There is a Home Talk entry on a fence style of wall that is made of boxes of cascading & trailing flowers that is just beautiful!
Hi! I was just thinking it might be on the cheaper side, instead of trying to block off the whole yard maybe just buy one of those tent/gazebo type things you can normally find in Walmart & I've even seen them in the drug store fairly cheap and add some drop cloth panels to it for privacy when you want it but the sides could also be tied back too. You can make it nice and cozy and hang some lights inside of it and put some chairs & a table under it & that way you can sit outside without feeling like you're being watched by the neighbors lol I'll be doing the same with my porch very soon! The drop cloths are really cheap and they can be taken down to be washed! Hope I helped!
You could take PVC posts on the sides & then cut wood Pallets and hang those up so you could move them when you when you want to see out a different way & space the pallet boards a ways. Like hanging it up from the top with heavy bolts.
You can make a privacy fence by planting and having your own green privacy screen, or by placing potted plants on a green vertical wall.
