Annuals have to be planted annually - they last a year. Perennials last season after season. Zinnias are annuals, or pansies. You plant them every year. Hydranga is a perennial. It is planted once, and re-blooms, like roses, year after year.
Annuals bloom only for 1 summer, but perennials come back for years in the spring and last year after year.
Annuals only come up for one season, unless some of the dropped see survives the winter. Perennials come up every year. I have had Marigolds come up every year and they are an annual, but our winters haven't been that cold for a few years.
Annuals only come up for one season unless the seed they drop survives the winter. Perennials will come up every year. These are a better buy, because you only buy them one time.
I like to plant perennials because they come back every year. This way you get more bang for your buck. I plant a few annuals around them as an accent color. Hope this helps. Good luck and Happy Gardening.
Annual means year so that plant will only last a year. Perennials come up year after year.
Annuals are plants and flowers that will last one season. Perennials will return year after year assuming they aren't damaged or eaten by animals.
