Thats always tough because it's hard wax. If you chip if away there's always something left behind. Maybe try to warm the wax to wipe it away.
can you microwave to melt the candle wax just make sure you don't have that metal flat piece that holds the wick
Freeze them. The candle will pop out with aid of a butter knife.
Put them in a pan of warm water. It will loosen the rest of the wax, unless they are lined in paper. In that case, the paper will come off too.
I found that if you place them in the microwave for 30 seconds or so, depending on the amount of wax in each one, it will heat them to a liquid consistency and you can pour it out and wipe out the excess with a paper towel! Hope this helps!
With a knife tip takeoff the metal wick disc and put the holders in the microwave for 30 secs to melt the wax...pour it on a stack of paper and quickly wash the holders in a hot water...
Set in hot water for a few minutes old wax will pop right out!!
Freeze it
boil water - remove from heat - set holder into hot water, wax will wipe out cleanly :-) Good luck!
Boil about 2 inches of water, take it off the burner and set your holders in the hot water. Wax will melt. You may have to repeat depending on how much wax. Don't boil the glass it could crack
