use superglue on the cut. Put something heavy to the cut from curling. Put a piece of plastic under the cut before you apply glue. Any plastic will do, it just needs to stick to the backing of the vinyl.
It must be completely dry before you start.

Do you mean thru the floor or just a separation problem? I'd use colored caulking to fill in any cracks you may have as a temporary inexpensive solution. If it's lifting, you can apply a thin amount of adhesive under the edges, place a heavy item on top and let dry. Best of luck.
They sell a product in the flooring department used to seal seams, but it can also be used for small repairs. It comes in a little tube. It is made specifically for vinyl, and holds up well.
