I have had numerous hydrangea plants, never had a flower on any but beautiful plants. I need help too.

The article I post explains that some hydrangeas grow on old wood and some grow on new wood. You have to figure out what kind you have to trim them properly so they bloom.
HTH
Cut back in autumn and fertilize in early spring BEFORE buds form.
I had a problem similar to that last year, except mine stayed pretty, but wouldn't grow or bloom. I got so flustered with it that I dug it up, trimmed to almost nothing left, re-dug the hole (bigger & deeper than it needed). Then filled the bottom of the hole with about 1" thick Miracle Grow. I always use the potting soil mix, even if I'm using for in the yard.... Once that's done put the hydrangea in & put lots more Miracle Grow around it. Water super good for about 3-4 days. Then water with rain or hose twice a week for a bit. Also - IMPORTANT - Hydrangeas like morning sun then lots of shade. Here is mine today. Ignore the weeds, that's next weekends job - LOL
Thx so much!
