this is one idea for a smaller ice cream container (sewing kit?, Make up kit?), but I am sure you can apply similar thoughts to a larger one.
You can use them for making sand molds, cleaning( I keep one in each bathroom for this). I keep one on my side porch to hold sidewalk salt so I can toss some out on the steps before we go out when it is icy. You can use them to hold small kids toys, puzzles, etc. and cover them in fabric or contact paper and label the top and side as to what is in the container. You could also use it to store smaller pantry items, or even keep an empty one in the pantry for gathering what you need to take out to make dinner. They also make a good container to hold seed packages and small hand tools, etc. when you are working in the garden.
Use as a tote for cleaning supplies.
I use them for carrying items from the garden like herbs and lettuce. They are great for storing leftovers and freezing ice for the cooler.
You can use them to pack treats in during the holidays for gifting. The buckets can easily be painted using Fusion spray paint for plastic.
Our church cafeteria loves to have them for leftovers for the staff.
Thanks everybody for some great ideas. I going to use a lot of the ideas some of you suggested.
if you have children they are great for separately storing crayons, pens, paints and paint brushes - putting name of contents on front with picture.
