Since this plant's roots can be divided to thin out its aggressive spread, you can control it in that way if you like the looks of it .... however, as warned, don't be complacent about it. This plant has been groing underground getting ready to sprout for several years. It won't give up easily. If you don't want it, root it out now --- have no mercy ;) Good Luck Barb. And thank you for asking Hometalk for informaiton. :)
I loved these gooseneck at first sight 3years ago...
Now, I dont know how to get rid of them. They spreaded very quickly, killing everything around and choking all my perennials.
Get rid of them before it's too late!
Not sure what they are called BUT- If you like it is a flower, but if you don't its a weed.
Gooseneck loosestrife.
Looks like a butterfly bush to me.
It is gooseneck loosestrife.
Thanks to all! Out they go! Although they seem perfect for some wild area, like at the end of a property where you just want something to fill in. But NOT next to my house! One strand had already gone up under the siding!
Looks like a butterfly bush. If it is, it attracts these insects.
