Garage door- I need some ideas on how to cover up the windows...

i have a garage like that and i used some tint to cover them-- its at walmart in the automotive dept-- you cut it to size and it goes on easy--darkens just enough

You can put auto window tint on them,limo black to be exact.You can buy window film with patterns on it at Lowes or Home Depot,used for bathroom windows,front door windows,etc.etc..You may even want to buy mirror paint to put on the inside side of the glass.Just some thoughts...

There are many decorative films available. Check out Home Depot.

You can paint the windows from the inside with thinned down latex paint. If you use a green, blue, purple, or amber shade, it will keep out lots of heat but allow enough light for you to see your car or the house door. Just another option. 😇

Also, look in the crafts areas of your favorite stores for glass paints.

Use contact paper, with like a frosted pattern on it, so no one can look in, or there are other patterns too. Have a estimated idea of how much you will need before you leave home. J.

We are trying to knock off the heat that the windows allow in. Will car window tint do the trick?

Cheap plastic blinds from Walmart work wonders. I am surprised how inexpensive they are and when you put your hand between the blind and the window, you will quickly see how much heat they keep out. If you really want to go cheap, a piece of cardboard and tape will also readily block it out.

I have painted windows before and they did a great job of keeping the heat and sun out.

Home Depot sells an adhesive backed paper that can be solid, semi clear or pattern. I have a small glass window next to my front door that I put the paper that looks like window is etched.

When I bought my house, I was surprised that all of the windows were frosted. The single older lady said that she bought spray frost at Walmart and Lowe's. She had been a police officer and said that the frosting of the windows was a security item for her. I scraped the frost off in some areas, but left the majority of it. It is great at the edges of the windows where the drapes don't completely cover. I need to pick up a can to do my garage windows.
